Código Rojo receives the Medical Education Award from the Fundación Lilly – UCM 2026
Third recognition in just over a year for the continuing education project in artificial intelligence for medicine.
The Medical Education Chair Fundación Lilly – Universidad Complutense de Madrid has awarded Código Rojo the Prize for Best Project or Work in Postgraduate Education and Specialist Training, in the XVII edition of its awards held in 2026. The project was presented by Dr. Adrián Mosquera Orgueira, researcher at IDIS and physician at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Santiago de Compostela, under the title «Código Rojo: continuing education and digital laboratory for the critical and safe use of AI in medicine».
These awards, convened annually by the Fundación Lilly – UCM Chair, recognise initiatives that represent educational innovation in the field of medical teaching, with particular attention to improving professional performance and the acquisition of values inherent to the medical profession. The jury is composed of professionals of recognised standing in the fields of Health Sciences and Medical Education.
This award comes after a year in which Código Rojo has accumulated several significant recognitions across different areas. In 2025, the project received the Digital Transformation Award at Ennova Health, organised by Diario Médico and Correo Farmacéutico, and the First Prize INNOVA-H 2025.
Each of these recognitions has come from a different area: digital health innovation and now postgraduate medical education. Together, they reflect the reach of a project born with a specific goal: to offer healthcare professionals a rigorous and critical way to incorporate artificial intelligence into their continuing education, through validated medical educational assistants across more than 57 specialties.
